Alfred Eliasson and his friends formed Loftleidir Icelandic almost empty handed in 1944. From there the company grew to become the largest in Iceland by far, and one of the biggest airlines on the Atlantic. Loftleidir, a true full-service, low-cost carrier, was nicknamed "The Hippie Airline" in the 60's and
70's because of its popularity with young people with little means to travel. Mr. Eliasson, a top flight motivator and visionary, is recognized as one of the pioneers in Trans-Atlantic aviation. The film is narrated and subtitled in English. Running time: 131 minutes.
